Who We Are
A family-directed support and education group for families of children with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities.
Our mission is to support families as they help their children with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities learn to read. We will fulfill our mission through in-person meetings, provision of up-to-date, research-based information and educational materials, and fostering an atmosphere of support, inclusion and shared decision making.
What We Offer
Community: Connect with other families through our Facebook group, family meetups and blog.
Education: We partner with The Learning Program to offer a 10-month parent education course. New classes start in October.
Information: Browse our literacy and early learning Resources Page for information on literacy and early learning.
We believe that all children have the potential to learn to read, that reading is a fundamental life skill, and that teaching reading early is beneficial to children with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities.
We focus on preschool and early elementary school aged children with Down syndrome, but all families are welcome.
